Mews Homes

South London

A compact mews development turning two overlooked plots into four light-filled family homes, each with its own garden and front door.

Tucked into a tight, underused plot in a south London neighbourhood, The Lawns transforms two surplus pieces of land into four carefully designed family homes. The project makes the most of a challenging infill site, turning constraints into opportunities for compact, characterful living.

A new mews lane forms the heart of the development, edged with raised planters and tall greenery that provide privacy, soften the brick boundary, and introduce a calm, garden-like feel. Each home has its own front door directly off the lane, reinforcing a sense of individuality and neighbourly connection. Inside, the ground floor is open, light and airy — flowing out to a walled private garden that extends the living space outdoors. The result is a small-scale development that feels generous, well-planted, and rooted in its residential context.
