Higham Hill Flats

A sustainable infill development of five new flats in a building scaled to fit within its neighbourhood street.
This new-build housing scheme makes use of a tight infill site in northeast London, adding five contemporary flats that balance urban density with light, openness, and a strong connection to green space.
Facing the street, the building completes the rhythm of the existing terrace; to the rear, it opens up towards neighbouring allotments with generous living spaces and long views. A calm, functional layout and thoughtful details shape each home for everyday living.
Clad in light brick with a crisp zinc roof, the design tucks a top floor into the roof with dormers for added space and daylight. Highly sustainable, the scheme includes an air-source heat pump, high insulation, and airtight construction.
Bewa Studio led the project from feasibility through to construction. Currently under construction.
